Research
Nodes.

IHRI operates four independent applied research nodes under Pillar II. Each node executes a specialist research mandate — investigating complex health challenges, resilience systems, and emerging global risks. Node activity is entirely distinct from IHRI's accredited Doctoral School.

Pillar II — Applied Research. The research nodes listed below are non-credit bearing and independent from IHRI's accredited Doctor of Health Science programme (MQF/EQF Level 8). Participation does not confer academic credit. See the Doctoral School for academic qualifications.

How nodes work

Independent applied research

Each node operates as an independent applied research consortium under IHRI's Pillar II framework. Nodes are led by specialist research leads and focus on non-credit-bearing inquiry into complex health challenges. Outputs include working papers, surveillance protocols, and collaborative research with institutional and sovereign partners.

Independent research mandate

Each node executes specialist, non-credit-bearing applied research in its domain.

Open to research partners

Academic institutions, clinical bodies, and research organisations can enquire about collaboration.

Not credit-bearing

Node participation does not count toward the DHS degree or any IHRI academic qualification.

Get involved
