Protocol.

Entry to the IHRI Doctoral School is governed by our Internal Quality Assurance (IQA) framework. We seek high-calibre practitioners capable of contributing original, peer-reviewed evidence to the global health system.

Statutory Entry Requirements

Academic Profile

  • Standard Route: Master's degree (MQF/EQF Level 7) in a relevant field plus 5 years of mid-to-senior professional experience.
  • Alternative Route: Bachelor's degree (MQF/EQF Level 6) plus 10 years of advanced professional leadership experience.

Language & Evidence

  • English Proficiency: Minimum IELTS 7.0 or equivalent formal exemption/waiver (refer to IQA Section 5.1).
  • Documentation: Validated transcripts, professional portfolio, and a 250-word Research Concept Note.

Note: This programme does not offer a pathway for Recognition of Prior Learning (RPL). All candidates must meet the statutory entry requirements listed above.

Selection Workflow

The IHRI Admissions Committee ensures a rigorous and equitable intake process.

Digital Submission

Candidates submit all required statutory documentation via the secure Admissions Portal.

Eligibility Audit

Submissions are audited for MQF level compliance and alignment with accredited research themes.

Committee Interview

Shortlisted candidates engage in a strategic interview with members of the Admissions Committee.

Agreement & Induction

Successful candidates sign an approved agreement and begin doctoral module induction.

Candidates have the right to request a formal review of an admission decision in accordance with the IHRI Admissions Appeals Procedure (IQA Section 5.1).

Licensing & Accreditation

IHRI Ltd is a Higher Education Institution licensed by the Malta Further and Higher Education Authority (MFHEA) (Licence: 2025-004). The Doctor of Health Science (DHS) is formally accredited at MQF/EQF Level 8.

Candidate Protections

In accordance with institutional policy and MFHEA guidelines, all candidates benefit from a 14-day statutory right to withdraw from their enrolment after signing the agreement, without penalty.
