Dr. A. Hodgers
President & CEO
Biography
Dr. Hodgers serves as the Head of Institute at IHRI, where he leads the organisation’s mission to bridge the critical gap between academic rigour and operational speed.
As the chief architect of the Institute’s "Practitioner-Scholar" philosophy, Dr. Hodgers champions a vision where professional practice serves as the primary laboratory for applied research. He is dedicated to transforming experienced leaders into practitioner-scholars who generate verifiable impact rather than just theoretical output.
Under his leadership, IHRI has evolved into a formally licensed European Higher Education Institution, uniting interdisciplinary experts to solve "wicked problems"in health, resilience, and technology.
His career defines the Institute's ethos, blending senior academic governance with high-level commercial acumen. Previously, he served for 15 years as Director for the Centre for Advanced Professional Studies (associated with Middlesex University’s Work-Based Learning network), where he co-developed global executive programmes. Crucially, he brings deep operational experience from senior executive roles in the Optical, Technology, Aerospace, and Defence sectors—experience that directly informs IHRI’s focus on complex systems and extreme environments.
Dr. Hodgers holds a Doctor of Professional Studies (DProf) and an MBA.
