IHRI Doctoral Fellowship
At IHRI, you don’t enroll as a student—you are appointed as a Fellow. This is a prestigious, practice-based research role for experienced professionals ready to lead, build, and create tangible impact.
The Fellowship Ethos: A Journey of Transformation
The Doctor of Health Science provides the accredited framework for your research. The Doctoral Fellowship is the ethos that defines your journey within it. This is not a separate pathway, but a developmental process woven into the fabric of the programme, driven by 48-60 monthly Transformational Tutorials.
During Foundational Modules (The Scoping Phase)
In the early stages, while you engage with formal programme modules, your monthly transfromation tutorials focus on forging your, Research Proposal & Impact Plan. We challenge your professional assumptions, ensure scholarly rigour, and help you define a mission with tangible, real-world impact.
During Project Execution (The Impact Generation Phase)
As you move into the core of your research, the transformation tutorials shift focus to leadership and systems thinking. We coach you through the complexities of managing your project, engaging with partners, and navigating the challenges of creating real change, turning theory into practice.
During Final Synthesis (The Portfolio Creation Phase)
In the final year of the programme, your transformational tutorials guide you in weaving together the threads of your work. The focus is on deep reflection, helping you construct a powerful Portfolio of Impact that demonstrates your growth as a scholar, leader, and builder.

The Engine: Transformational Tutorials
The heart of your development as a Fellow is the Transformational Tutorioal. This is not a simple supervision meeting. It is the core learning process where you and your Principal Fellow engage in a deep, Socratic dialogue. Together, throughout the 48-60 months of your programme, you will cultivate the five core qualities of an IHRI Fellow:
- Scholarly Rigour: Moving beyond what you know to challenge assumptions.
- Pragmatic Impact: Relentlessly focusing on creating a tangible solution.
- Systems Thinking: Understanding the complex interplay of your work within the wider world.
- Collaborative Leadership: Honing your ability to manage stakeholders and lead peers.
- Reflective Practice: Weaving together your experience, research, and personal growth.
Ready to Begin Your Transformation?
This journey is for those who are ready to build. If this philosophy of integrated, practice-based development resonates with your ambitions, we invite you to take the next step.
